Painful joints of the human anatomy

April is always highly professional and has always helped me with my back problem. She is always the first I call when I start to feel pain. (E Lee)
I have had two treatments. I have been in constant pain for a long time. I wish I had sought April’s treatment method a long time ago. (L Barnett)
Very detailed initial consultation, followed by head to toe treatment, very professional, would definitely recommend. (S Althorpe)
April has saved me from having a operation on my neck which had a 50/50 chance of not being able to walk. Now only go every 6 mths for a check up. Would recommend April to anyone who has a niggle. (R Moore)

What is Chiropractic and how does it work?

If you require more than 2 treatments in your first 2 weeks, you will only pay for 2

If you require more than 3 treatments in your first month, you will only pay for 3

If you’re looking for a safe, natural solution to pain, or you want to improve your health, or if you want to try and avoid drugs and surgery then you’ve come to the right place.  The april4health Chiropractic clinic is based in Sidmouth, Devon. (You can read lots of helpful reviews from Patients by searching “April Rose McTimoney” on Google).

As a Chiropractor, I focus on the musculoskeletal system (muscles and joints).  It’s all about making sure that everything fits together according to your unique blueprint. When that happens, your body moves well and works well – and it’s pretty much that simple! When I treat my clients, I focus on getting them back to their blueprint which stimulates the body to heal itself. The aim is always to improve mobility, reduce pain and encourage healing. My pet hates are people being told “it’s just their age” and that they have to “learn to live with pain”. No! no! no! I rarely find that to be the case.

There is evidence to support Chiropractic as an effective treatment for a wide range of conditions including:

  •  Ankle sprain (short term management)
  • Cramp
  • Elbow pain and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) arising from associated musculoskeletal
conditions of the back and neck, but not isolated occurrences
  • Headache arising from the neck (cervicogenic)
  • Inability to relax
  • Joint pains
  • Joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis as an adjunct to core osteoarthritis
    treatments and exercise
  • General, acute & chronic backache, back pain (not arising from injury or accident)
  • Generalised aches and pains
  • Lumbago
  • Mechanical neck pain (as opposed to neck pain following injury i.e. whiplash)
  • Migraine prevention
  • Minor sports injuries and tensions
  • Muscle spasms
  • Plantar fasciitis (short term management)
  • Rotator cuff injuries (shoulder), disease or disorders
  • Sciatica
  • Shoulder complaints (dysfunction, disorders and pain)
  • Soft tissue disorders of the shoulder

I specifically chose to study as a McTimoney Chiropractor (over 20 years ago) because I love the gentle approach and I also find that, by treating the whole body every time (rather than just the bit that hurts) Patients respond more quickly and improve noticeably within just 1-3 treatments. The gentleness of the treatment also makes it a wonderful therapy for new-born babies right up to 90+ year olds. You are never too old or too young for a McTimoney Chiropractic treatment. Many of my new Patients come for a free back check at the Sidmouth clinic first so I can assess and make sure the treatment is right for them.

I am regulated by the General Chiropractic Council, a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association, and have a £6 million public liability insurance, so you are in safe hands.

There are many healthcare plans available to help pay for your treatment. I can personally recommend WPA and have had a policy myself with them for many years. You simply send in your receipt to cover all or part of your costs (depending on your Healthcare Provider and Policy). As an example £11.69 per month with WPA will cover you for £200 worth of Chiropractic per year which is a a lot cheaper than many people realise and can help spread costs. I have a great relationship with Dave Stickland at WPA who you can email directly at Let him know I’ve referred you, he’ll look after you.
